L?anglais sera notre langue de travail mais nous pourrons utiliser le français pour les clarifications. ;

Each day is devoted to a sociological perspective on consumption: what are its main goals and concepts, how it applies to food and eating, how it helps analyse environmental issues, how to use it.
Each day develops as follows. In the morning, the perspective is introduced, through reading a text in English (this is done during the workshop, to allow clarification and discussion), lecturers provide inputs, and discussion addresses the questions above. The afternoon is devoted to hands-on sociological practice: an empirical method is put to use, and results are discussed using the perspective developed in the morning.
We will work in English and use French when necessary for clarifications.

- Participants enrolled in the PSL-week receive 2 ECTS based on their contribution to the sociological practice sessions.
- Participants enrolled in the lecture as a 'séminaire thématique' hand out a 5-page paper going deeper into the sociological analysis of one of the sociological practice sessions (in French or English), max 3 weeks after the end of the Lecture, and receive 6 ECTS. ;
- in case of failure, a written document can be hand-out 1 month after feedback on the first validation.
